Midway Village Museum provides special 1858 rules vintage base ball (it was two words back then) hands-on programs either in our historic village or at your school, library or park. Museum interpreters wear 19th century uniforms, use vintage equipment and play by the rules when the sport was just getting started, when men were men and gloves were for sissies.  Learn the original rules of the game as well as proper 1858 base ball terminology in order to cheer and jeer in proper Victorian fashion. A great program for all age groups...

For more information, please contact Mark Herman, Curator of Education  at 815/397-9112, ext. 105 or e-mail to Mark.Herman@midwayvillage.com. Midway Village Museum can also provide information about area vintage base ball teams that play public 1858 rules games throughout northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin and northwestern Indiana.
