Fall fun & scarecrow making for the whole family...however, this annual event is about much more than just making your own scarecrow...

12:00 Noon to 5:00 pm each day

Enjoy a Rockford family tradition of making your own scarecrow to take home for your front porch Autumn decorations. Midway Village will provide the straw for free.  Purchase a cloth head, hat, shirt, pants and other traditional scarecrow accessories on site or bring your old clothes from home to make as many scarcrows as you can carry.

But when you are here, take the time to explore our charming Victorian era village and gardens at one of the most scenic times of the year when the leaves are in full color and the traditonal harvest activities are in full swing.

There will be lots of fun fall activities for the entire family:

• Demonstrations of rare antique threshing and bailing machinery provided by our talented village blacksmiths
• Learn to square dance in our 1905 barn and play old fashioned games by our 1902 one room school house

• Enjoy horse drawn wagon rides around the Village...take a guided tour of our heirloom vegetable gardens and discover plant varieties seldom seen today...plus many more unique hands-on autumn experiences are planned each day

Food and fall treats will be available in Burritt’s Town Hall Cafe.

Admission cost: $6 adults; $4 students and children (3 to 17).  Members are always free.

This event is sponsored in part by Alpine Bank and Judson College.
