Knot Review

Midway Village Museum was amazing! Lisa, our point of contact for sales was absolutely amazing!!! We hosted our ceremony and reception here. The whole staff was so helpful and kind. Shout our to Scott for being so amazing on the day of our wedding! They do offer a limited catering options but they are all so nice. We went with ABC Catering and they were amazing!!! We had so many compliments on the food they served and had tons of left overs to take home! The venue itself is very unique and that was something we really loved. Be aware that you have to set up your stuff yourself. For me that was perfect because I had a great wedding party that was so willing to help. We decorated everything ourselves which really made it customized to our vision. We were a little worried if having the dinner on the second floor of the barn and the dancing and bar in the first floor would be weird but it was not! We had a great DJ who was instrumental in instructing our guest downstairs for first dances. Having the bar, photo booth and dance floor downstairs ended up being a huge advantage, it kept everyone on the dance floor and made for a great party! - Andie H.
There are no words to describe my experience with Midway Village. I knew I wanted to have my vow renewal out at this location after attending my sister's wedding here. The price was amazing compared to other venues we shopped around at. The list of caterers to choose from was reasonable and the location was absolutely beautiful. Lisa is the wedding coordinator here and she was absolutely amazing, she responded quickly to all my messages, and I was able to book a year in a half in advance. She always kept me informed of any changes and when I wanted more information was always happy to help answer all my questions and needs. It lightly rained on our event date, but we were still lucky enough to have our vow renewal in the garden as we planned, and Lisa made sure everything was set up and kept on track. You are able to decorate the day before the event which helped a lot. We had our reception in the barn and it’s beautiful and has its own rustic charm and they recently had fans installed in the barn, so the barn temperature was absolutely perfect. The staff here at the Midway goes above and beyond to make sure your events go as planned. This definitely took a lot of stress off my shoulders and made the event run smoothly. - Jessica

Dear Lisa, and all of Midway Village staff,

On behalf of our entire family, thank you so very much for the amazing job you did for the wedding and reception of my son, John, and new daughter-in-law, Crystal, this past week. Your kindness and hospitality went above and beyond our expectations.

Also, I would like to share how impressed and amazed I was with the grounds and buildings around the Village. I live in Huntley, IL., and had never been to Midway Village before we visited and chose it for the ceremony and reception. The beautiful landscaping, the old trees, the flowers in their prime in the garden - it was all absolutely perfect for an early fall wedding.

But what I found most impressive about Midway was the unmatched authenticity of the historical buildings on display. The church in particular served as a perfect venue for a modestly sized wedding ceremony, and with such a unique ambience our family and guests spoke of truly feeling transported to an earlier time. The pastor even opened the ceremony by marveling at how extraordinary it was for a new love to be taking root in such an old but veritable setting.

The barn was equally impressive and had just the perfect atmosphere for a rustic country themed reception. The new floor in the lower level looked amazing! The same can be said for all of the buildings around Midway, each with their own unique story and aura about them.

John annually attends World War II Days at Midway Village and he loves to recount how genuine and authentic the village feels, as if he is truly experiencing another time and place in history. What a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resources that go towards maintaining and improving your wonderful village!

You should be very proud of Midway. We could not possibly have been any happier or more impressed. As a family we are very much looking forward to becoming regular visitors to Midway Village in the months and years to come.

Thank you all again. Keep up the good work.

All my best,

Ruth Hahn
