Weddings at Midway Village

The epitome of a rustic Rockford wedding, Midway Village and Museum offers 148 picturesque acres and multiple choices for a wedding ceremony location and reception venue. This exclusive venue features a two-story barn built in 1905, Moonlight Gardens, a Gazebo, a working Millhouse and a quaint church built in 1883. The 13-acre Victorian village is comprised of 26 historical buildings nestled among tall trees to create a retreat setting. Centrally located in Rockford near I-90, guests will be only minutes away from local transportation, hotels and restaurants to meet every budget. We partner with eight local caterers to provide all your food service needs. From casual to elegant to picnic style, you have options at Midway Village.
The Midway Community Church
The Midway Community Church (circa 1883) is a charming spot for an intimate wedding ceremony located in the Victorian Village close to parking. This Victorian church maintains no religious affiliation, so you can select the officiant of your choice. Our ceiling fans and heating system keep this quaint Victorian church comfortable and it is also wheelchair accessible.
The pews seat 75 guests and form a semicircle around the ample alter area. Feel free to ring the Church Bell as a ceremonial conclusion to saying "I do". Battery operated candles OK – electrical outlets available for sound system.
The Chamberlain Hotel
This is a replica of the Chamberlain Hotel built in the 1860's from Caledonia, IL. This climate-controlled two-story Hotel is decorated with bits of family heirlooms and antiques and offers a generous dressing room and restrooms. The atmosphere creates just the right mood for our brides as they begin their day of preparation and primping. The Hotel is located across from the Gazebo in the Victorian Village with private gated entrance close to parking.
Midway Village's 1905 Barn
Our rustic two-story barn is located in our Victorian Village amidst tall trees and lush gardens. Take advantage of the gorgeous boulder backdrop as a picture perfect ceremony spot located right outside the barn doors. After the ceremony, allow your guests the relaxing atmosphere of lawn games while the bride and groom take photographs before the reception begins. The barn is equipped with an elevator, private restrooms and custom vintage bar. Heat is available on the first floor for crisp spring or fall evenings. Our large barn ceiling fans and multiple barn doors allow plenty of air flow and character for photo backdrops. Dinner seating up to 160 guests on top floor.
Lakeview Rooms
Surround yourself among the cascading weeping willows overlooking Woodward Millhouse and Lake Severin. These climate controlled rooms are located at the Museum center and offer wedding dates year round. They provide lake views and a patio that opens up to the lush grounds that can be used for lawn games and mingling throughout the night. This outdoor space also provides a breathtaking backdrop for ceremonies up to 150 guests. Conveniently located near parking and offers a newly appointed bridal suite for the bride and attendants to get dressed and primp in. Dinner seating up to 200 guests.
Wedding Garden
This beautiful garden is located behind the Midway Village Church with a private gated entrance adjacent to the parking lot. Surround yourself and up to 250 guests with lush flowers and foliage on your most special day. Electricity is available for your DJ, musicians or officiant. This garden can also provide the perfect backdrop for rehearsal dinners.
Gazebo
The Gazebo was crafted to create an atmosphere of "being one with nature" yet it is located on Main Street in the Village among the canopy of the tall oak trees. The landscaping is designed to be natural and accentuate the beauty the land offers, so you can enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature. The open design of the gazebo gives you the flexibility to decorate the space how you like. Just a few steps from the Chamberlain Hotel and water tower with private gated entrance. Seating capacity of 200 guests with brick pathway and lush flower gardens.
